Description
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
To serve the Midland Rape Crisis and Children's Advocacy Center (MRCCAC) Board of Directors, Executive Directors and other official committees in accordance with all policies and procedures; to administer the programs of the MRCCAC; and employ, with approval of the Board of Directors, sufficient staff to carry out the plans and policies authorized by the Board of Directors. Understand the purpose and function of the MRCCAC and be knowledgeable of existing policies and procedures.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares agendas and meeting materials, maintains historical Board actions, prepares and distributes correspondence and coordinates scheduling and announcements of Board meetings and Board related activities.
Ensures continuation of an on-going strategic planning process for the MRCCAC with timely implementation of Board approved strategies focused on attainment of the agency's mission and objectives.
Leads Program Directors to ensure day-to-day operational functions of the MRCCAC are consistent with the mission and objectives of the agency which includes but are not limited to: community-wide services delivery; planning and problem solving; fund acquisition and development; year-round marketing and communication; development and implementation of programs designed to expand and refine volunteerism, education, and services delivery at all levels within the community.
Recruits, maintains and develops a staff of well-motivated professional and support personnel sufficient to meet the day-to-day functions of the agency consistent with and in conformity to affirmative action and E.E.O.C. standards. Responsible for overseeing financial transactions of the agency including but not limited to: expenses, receivables, assets, liabilities and funds ensuring accuracy and accountability to the Board of Directors, all funding sources and the community.
Maintains and maximizes the image of the MRCCAC through his/her interface with the Midland Community, state and national agencies, all public and private entities, and United Way. Provides services to victims of sexual assault, sexual abuse, and incest including but not limited to: assistance with completion of paperwork, on-call services on a rotating basis with other staff, crisis intervention and support services as necessary (including appropriate documentation), and hotline assistance as dictated by the need.
Participates in the planning, development, and implementation of fundraising events as requested and directed by the Board and provides a face for the MRCCAC at such events.
EDUCATION:
A baccalaureate degree is required with an advanced degree preferred in an area of emphasis, which relates to serving the mission and objectives of the MRCCAC. Education and requirements may be substituted with at least 5 years of experience in a senior level management position in a non-profit organization and/or agency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Show an understanding and appreciation of the vital importance of the MRCCAC and their role within the community.
Proven track record in leading diverse teams and possess initiative to grow the programs at the MRCCAC.
Possess significant business acumen, administrative skills and the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
A proven track record as an individual who values ethnic diversity and maintains a multicultural perspective and the ability to work with all victims of sexual assault, sexual abuse and incest without bias or prejudice regarding prostitution, drug abuse, abortion, use of alcohol, difference in abilities, age, race, color, creed, or religious affiliation.
Strong skills and experience in grant writing with an emphasis in federal and state grants.
