TITLE:  Marketing and Communications Manager

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

WORK HOURS: Monday-Friday, 9:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. Additional hours will be required outside of normal business hours or as set forth by the demands of the position, up to and including evenings and weekends.

Since 1980, Wipe Out Kids' Cancer has offered comfort and hope to kids with cancer through support programs serving the entire family and funds innovative research leading to new discoveries and treatments in the fight against pediatric cancer. We are looking for an experienced individual to join this wonderful mission as the Marketing and Communications Manager.

SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Marketing and Communications Manager is to coordinate and create marketing activities and communications to support the development activities of Wipe Out Kids' Cancer (WOKC). The Marketing and Communications Manager is knowledgeable of the mission, goals, and objectives of WOKC and communicates them effectively while growing and maintaining brand assets. Ability to write is paramount for this position.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Coordinates with CEO and staff on the following:

+ Plans, writes, and executes the monthly e-newsletter.

+ Manages brand social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, and X via Hootsuite.

+ Maintains brand assets and style throughout company materials.

+ Ensures the ongoing design, updates, and maintenance of the WOKC website.

+ Coordinates the production of WOKC videos for marketing to donors, hospitals, volunteers, and community groups.

+ Supervises printer/vendor relationships, including cost analysis for production materials.

+ Establishes and executes advertising whether paid or in-kind.

+ Graphic design is highly preferred.

+ Ability to use Dropbox.

+ Ability to use Donorbox (this can be learned after hire).

+ Designs, writes, and publishes advertising and collateral materials including newsletters, brochures, advertisements, and campaigns associated with up to four major special events per year, in addition to several minor events.

+ Maintains extensive in-house records of all publicity associated with events.

+ Facilitates all publicity for special events working closely with WOKC outsourced PR firm.

+ Assists with Public Relations (PR) initiatives: research, writing, editing, and repurposing in collaboration with WOKC outsourced PR firm.

+ Plans and coordinates presentations to corporate, civic, and community groups to market the mission of WOKC.

+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite, Zoom, Mailchimp, and Wix.

+ The employee may be required to lift up to 25 pounds.

+ The vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

+ Coordinate ordering of all Buddy Bag items through Amazon.

+ Manage virtual aspects of WOKC board meetings.

+ Assist Development Director with event planning and execution
