JOB SUMMARY
The Foundation Manager - Prospect Research and Donor Development is responsible for the design and implementation of data-driven strategies for prospect identification, qualification and research aimed at achieving the Foundation’s annual and long-term fundraising goals. Reporting to the President of the Baylor Scott & White All Saints Health Foundation, this individual oversees prospect research, portfolio management, data analysis, and moves management strategies designed to build a robust pipeline of major gift prospects. The Manager is responsible for ensuring that key Foundation staff have accurate, comprehensive, and timely information to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making. This individual will also work with the Director of Communications and Annual Giving to enhance the annual giving program and assist with appeal strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Proactively identify new prospects for major and planned gifts including individuals, companies, and foundations.
- Research, organize and evaluate a prospect’s financial status, ability to give, readiness to give, philanthropic inclinations and interests, and match to Baylor Scott & White’s mission. Identify connections to organization through board members and friends.
- Manage the collection, analysis and thorough and accurate documentation of major and planned gifts prospects.
- Stimulate the movement of prospects and donors from identification to stewardship for development officers.
- Actively participate in prospect strategy development, drive multiple projects with tight deadlines, and adapt to new situations quickly.
- Maintain and refine prospect management protocols that ensures maximum function of development officer portfolios.
- Ensure that each development staff maintain, manage and maximize the philanthropic potential of their portfolio through regular feedback on efficiency and productivity.
- Prepare detailed prospect profiles to team members that include biographical, financial, professional, philanthropic, and capacity information.
- Drive the grateful patient program; screen, research and prioritize grateful patients and families through physician referrals and screening data.
- Ensure data integrity of major donor and prospect information collected during research and major gift activities.
- Create and provide mailing lists for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to industry and professional standards and ethics including HIPAA Apra, AFP, and AHP.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
- Demonstrated analytical skills with abilities to identify and analyze philanthropic patterns, trends, and relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, an aptitude for logical thinking and a commitment to professional ethics are required.
- Advanced prospect research and management skills demonstrated through education and/or experience.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for wide-ranging responsibilities.
- Curious learner, adaptable to evolving business needs and a changing environment.
- Must be comfortable working within a demanding and complex environment with access to highly confidential and proprietary information.

Must have 7+ years of professional experience in relationship management or development support.

- EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree
- EXPERIENCE - 7 years of experience
