As a key member of the development operations team, the manager of development operations will play an integral role within a dynamic and dedicated fundraising team. This position is vital to managing and optimizing the essential operations that underpin a successful development and membership department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to reporting needs for the fundraising team for the Perot Museum. Partner with the director of development operations to identify a regular reporting cadence for special events and other solicitation appeals. Manage all data exports for the development team.
  • Manage the Museum’s constituent database by creating, implementing, and monitoring compliance with database protocols and performing ongoing data and process audits to ensure data integrity is maintained.
  • Create and maintain system policies and procedures that promote quality donor data and data integrity; proactively lead by making system recommendations that promote efficient flow of donor information to appropriate users.
  • Oversee incoming gift processing and stewardship systems, ensuring all gifts are promptly and accurately entered, receipted, and acknowledged.
  • Proactively develop and export accurate email and postal mail lists using specific criteria defined by the development team, specifically annual giving appeals.
  • Assist with individual giving appeals, in collaboration with the director of annual giving and the development team. Strengthen giving circles that generate annual support through stewardship.
  • Collaborate with the director of development operations to monitor the process of generating, printing, mailing, and tracking acknowledgement letters, receipts, renewal notices, pledge payment reminders, and other correspondence related to gifts.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of donor prospects by strategizing and crafting correspondence to welcome and acknowledge donors at different stages of the prospect pipeline and developing outreach calendars to acknowledge segments of donors.
  • Assist with prospect research function. Analyze and provide high-level research on high-net-wealth individuals, corporations, and foundations using a variety of biographical, organizational, and financial sources.

Qualifications:

  • Possess three to five years of successful development operations or prospect research experience within a nonprofit organization or institution of higher education.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and experience in data collection, verification, and analysis.
  • Exhibit familiarity with internet search strategies and ability to critically assess the validity of online sources.
  • Proven experience in managing databases with a preference for candidates who have experience using Salesforce software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, ensuring smooth and efficient document preparation and data analysis.
  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy in all tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize a variety of tasks and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Act with integrity and take personal accountability for achieving results and meeting organizational goals.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
