Job Title: Development Manager - Junior League of Dallas
Location: Dallas, TX

Job Summary:
The Development Manager at the Junior League of Dallas (JLD) plays a vital role in supporting the strategic vision of development activities and their implementation. This position serves as a behind-the-scenes support to empower volunteers in their fundraising efforts and ensure the successful achievement of the organization's goals. The Development Manager collaborates closely with development leadership and volunteers to assist with implementation of fundraising strategies, provide consistency within the development department with annual volunteer turnover and provide resources for the development team.

Responsibilities:

1. Development Strategy Support:

  • Collaborate with volunteers and development leadership to develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization's mission and vision.
  • Assist in innovation of development strategies based current trends within the market
  • Offer expertise and guidance in refining fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Provide valuable insights into fundraising best practices and emerging trends.

2. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

  • Assist volunteers in cultivating relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations.
  • Support volunteers in prospect research and creating personalized cultivation plans.
  • Collaborate with volunteers to implement stewardship strategies and donor recognition initiatives.

3. Fundraising Campaign Implementation:

  • Work alongside volunteers to plan and execute fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Provide logistical support for fundraising events, including budgeting, vendor coordination, and communication efforts.
  • Ensure proper tracking and documentation of campaign progress.

4. Grant Writing and Reporting:

  • Support volunteers in the grant writing process, offering guidance and editing assistance.
  • Assist in gathering required documentation and ensuring compliance with grant reporting requirements.
  • Help volunteers manage grant deliverables and deadlines.

5. Fundraising Data Management:

  • Maintain and update the donor database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date donor records.
  • Generate reports and analysis to measure fundraising performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilize data insights to inform decision-making and tailor fundraising strategies.

6. Communication and Marketing:

  • Collaborate with volunteers on crafting compelling communication materials for fundraising efforts.
  • Assist in developing marketing plans to promote fundraising initiatives and events.
  • Support volunteers in leveraging digital platforms and social media for donor engagement.

7. Team Support and Training:

  • Provide training and resources to volunteers to enhance their fundraising skills.
  • Offer continuous support and motivation to volunteers throughout their fundraising activities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative environment that encourages teamwork and shared success.

8. Support other JLD staff and operations, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as nonprofit management, fundraising, or communications).
  • Previous experience in a nonprofit development role, with a focus on supporting volunteers in their fundraising efforts.
  • Familiarity with fundraising principles, strategies, and best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in fundraising databases and software for donor management and tracking.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and provide support in a collaborative environment.
  • Passion for the mission and values of the Junior League of Dallas.
  • Ability to work with multi-generational population that has varying skillsets
