Description

The Development and Communications Coordinator is a key member of the Development Team and supports the administration of donor tracking and gift processing in pursuit of the Development Team’s goals of raising contributed income.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Record and maintain all aspects of fundraising activities in the Salesforce database, including, but not limited to:
    • Daily data entry of gifts and memberships
    • Regular updates to donor and prospective donor contact information
    • Collaborate with finance team to reconcile fundraising income
    • Record grant submission and reporting deadlines
    • Assist in maintaining moves management and Salesforce opportunities
  • Create, print, mail, and track acknowledgment letters, receipts, renewal notices, and pledge reminders
  • Coordinate mail campaigns (printing, packaging, mailing proposals, reports, invitations)
  • Assist with development team administrative functions
  • Coordinate meeting preparation for senior development staff
  • Ensure timely filing of correspondence
  • Manage proper storage of department files (hard copy and electronic)
  • Perform other assigned duties

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal) — a writing assessment will be conducted during the interview process
  • A cover letter must be submitted with application
  • Extreme attention to detail and high work accuracy
  • Salesforce software experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service commitment
  • Demonstrates integrity and personal accountability
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Essential Functions:

While preforming the duties of this position, the employee will be required regularly to:

  • Sit for an extended period of time while using a computer
  • Communicate by telephone

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will occasionally be required to:

  • Stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods of time during fundraising functions
  • Lift/move light boxes up to 20 lbs
  • Set up and take down event furniture
