POSITION SUMMARY:

KERA is seeking a full-time copywriter to join our innovative Marketing team and create impeccable copy that connects audiences to KERA’s many essential services. This includes copy for marketing campaigns, on-air and off-air fundraising, social media, web and more across all of KERA’s channels (KERA TV, KERA News, KXT, KERA Kids, etc.). The ideal candidate will be someone who LOVES to write in a variety of voices across many platforms and has a sharp instinct for reaching and connecting with audiences.

 

This is an entry-level position that welcomes creativity and opportunities for growth and professional development. This position is classified as FLSA exempt and is not eligible for overtime.

  • Write copy for a wide variety of platforms, including web, print, mail, on-air, social and more
  • Proofread and edit audience-facing communications
  • Write, edit and assist in strategic fundraising messaging
  • Generate ideas and concepts for new campaigns and audience development / engagement
  • Work closely with the Audience Development team on strategy and coordination of key initiatives and audience engagement
  • Work closely with KERA’s graphic design team to execute compelling marketing campaigns
  • Be an active participant in KERA’s work towards equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging
  • Work in a manner that is consistent with KERA’s mission, vision and values; and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Comply with KERA’s COVID policies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • EXCELLENT writing skills
  • Love of writing, editing and proofreading

  • Enthusiasm for audience development and engagement
  • Enthusiasm for collaboration and working well with others
  • Ability to absorb and incorporate feedback from stakeholders across the organization
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and efficiency
  • Excellent time management skills

  • Passion for public media
  • Intern or work experience in marketing, advertising, media or nonprofit environment.

 

 

 

SALARY RANGE

$55,000 - $65,000, depending on experience

LOCATION:

We expect that this position will work out of our Dallas office at least 25% of the time.
