Job Title: Communications Coordinator

Reporting Structure: Reports to CEO

Classification: Full Time, Salaried, Exempt

 

Job Summary: The Communications Coordinator is a highly collaborative role working with team members from across the organization. This position will be responsible for the creation, implementation, and maintenance of an effective communication strategy that produces impactful messaging across various platforms.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Craft strategy, schedules, and compelling content for social media, website, newsletters, videos, press releases, and other communication channels to reach diverse audiences
  • Collaborate with other staff to create engaging content that supports survivors of sexual assault and promotes education and prevention in the community
  • Support fundraising initiatives by crafting impactful messaging and materials to engage donors and sponsors
  • Provide comprehensive communication support for events, workshops, and other activities organized by or attended by agency staff
  • Provide information and support to survivors who make outcries via social media and at events
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, adjusting approaches as needed to maximize impact and reach
  • Provide development and oversight of consistent brand identity
  • Utilize design skills to create new publications, marketing materials, and collateral
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. Experience in a similar role may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and implementing communication strategies across various platforms
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms, content management systems, and design software
  • Sensitivity, empathy, and understanding of the issues surrounding sexual assault and trauma
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Must believe in, support, and act in accordance with the agency’s mission statement, strategic goals, policies, and guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain a non-judgmental, accepting attitude towards people of any race, color, religion, ethnicity, sexuality, age, appearance, or economic status.

Job Specifics:

  • Work Setting: Hybrid virtual and remote schedule, at least 2 days in the office a week.
  • Schedule: Full-time Monday through Friday plus occasional weekend hours required.
  • Occasional travel locally for community outreach and survivor accompaniment.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Lifting of items under 30 pounds.
