Finding and Connecting with Grantmakers Who May Love Your Nonprofit
May 18, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Foundations and other Grantmakers can be excellent prospects for funding the work of your organization. With more than 200,000 foundations in the U.S. and 11,000 in Texas, where do you begin to find the ones whose purposes align with your organization’s mission? How do you approach them? This session will help you gain a solid foundation in grant seeking by helping you learn how to find prospective funders and put your best foot forward on behalf of your organization.
Learning objectives:
- What is my role? Gain an understanding of your role in seeking, preparing, and managing grants.
- Which comes first, the grant opportunity or your organization’s need? Learn to clearly articulate your organization’s needs, including the amount of funding you need, when you need it, why you need it, and what the impact of that funding will be.
- How do I determine which grants to pursue? Discover ways to research and evaluate prospective funding opportunities.
- How do I connect with decision-makers? Learn how to approach funders and what to say when you do.
