Denton County is the 6th fastest-growing county in United States with nearly 950,000 residents, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Created in 2001, DCTA provides a variety of multi-modal transit options to the Cities of Denton, Lewisville and Highland Village, with an eye toward continued growth. DCTA is on of the few transit agencies in the country with 100% ridership following the Covid-19 pandemic. Ridership more than doubled in FY2022, and continues to climb.
