Metrocare is the largest behavioral health care and intellectual developmental diversity services in the
North Texas region, serving nearly 32,126 adults and 12,675 children (with 9,014 unknown) across our 17
clinic locations and within the community. We have over 45+ broad-based programs, focused on
providing behavioral health services with a holistic and integrated approach. In addition to our mental
health outpatient clinics and other intensive community-based, mental health services, Metrocare offers
primary care services, substance abuse programs, on-site and accessible pharmacies, mental health services
and peer networks for veterans and military families, permanent supportive housing for those with cooccurring
illnesses, and jail diversion and reentry programs. Within our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) programs, Metrocare serves individuals from birth through the end of life with a broad array of services including Early Childhood Intervention therapies, group homes for independent living in the community, Applied Behavior
Analysis (ABA) therapy at our two designated Centers for Children with Autism, day habilitation, crisis
respite services, and supported employment. Metrocare is also the second largest provider of permanent
supportive housing in Dallas. Alongside the clinical care, Metrocare’s Altshuler Center for Education &
Research is transforming the community mental health landscape of North Texas through workforce
development focused on innovative partnerships and exceptional trauma-informed training. Each year,
ACER trains more than 220 healthcare professionals while helping impact the workforce in the state.
