The Bridge is a leading non-profit organization in Dallas, dedicated to providing comprehensive services and support to individuals experiencing homelessness in Dallas. We offer a holistic approach, encompassing essential needs like shelter, food, and healthcare, as well as programs that empower individuals to gain independence and secure stable housing. Through our innovative programs and collaborative partnerships, we are making significant strides toward ending chronic homelessness in Dallas.

SUMMARY.

The Bridge is seeking a passionate and highly experienced Institutional Giving Manager to support and enhance our strategic fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Fund Development, this role will focus on preparing, submitting, and managing grant applications to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in grant writing and securing major gifts from a variety of sources, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to support The Bridge's mission and programs. This position is critical to driving immediate revenue growth and advancing our development initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preparation of Grant Applications:

  • Prepare and submit grant applications on behalf of The Bridge. This includes the renewal of existing grants and the pursuit of new funding opportunities.
  • Ensure that all applications are thorough, accurate, and submitted promptly to maximize funding potential.

Public Grant Research and Planning:

  • Conduct research to identify the City of Dallas, State of Texas, and federal grant opportunities for services to the homeless.
  • Facilitate planning sessions with other on-campus disciplines to gather information regarding campus, Guest, and community needs that The Bridge might address.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with Team Members from all disciplines at The Bridge to plan, prepare, and submit complex grant proposals, integrating input, and ensuring any submission is in alignment with organizational priorities and goals.

Progress and Status Reporting:

  • Prepare and communicate regular updates on grant proposal progress and readiness to senior leadership, highlighting completion stages, and readiness for submission, as well as acquiring support with potential preparation challenges, issues, or delays.
  • Monitor, track, and facilitate completion of funder reporting expectations, including data and documentation materials completion.

Identification of New Private Institutional Funding Sources:

  • Actively seek out and identify new public and private foundations and corporate funding resources.  Sensitivity to The Bridge’s public and private revenue mix is important.
  • Communicate with all campus disciplines regarding needs and connect those to potential grant submissions to expand the organization’s revenue base.

Proposal Writing and Submission:

  • Write, review, and edit grant proposals to ensure they are compelling, clear, and aligned with funder requirements.  Manage grant submission process.

Ongoing Grant Management:

  • Engage in additional grant identification and submission activities, including post-award compliance and relationship management.

Renewals and New Applications:

  • Ensure that grant renewal documentation is completed and submitted under funder expectations.
  • Pursue new funding sources to support The Bridge's initiatives.

Research and Planning:

  • Conduct necessary research and facilitate planning meetings with Services and Finance Department Leadership for the preparation of comprehensive grant proposals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher or related equivalent experience
  • At least three years relevant experience in writing grants and managing corporate and foundation relationships
  • Understanding of industry standards regarding institutional giving; experience in Dallas nonprofit arena a plus

KEY PROFICIENCIES:

  • Possesses advanced professional communication skills to articulate The Bridge's mission and messaging effectively.
  • Effectively communicate the organization’s mission, programs, services, and resource needs.
  • Grasp key messaging for compelling verbal and written stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage, digest, and assess large volumes of data, ensuring organizational compliance with fundraising regulations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a high-performing Development Team.  Advocate for the Development Team to achieve organizational fundraising expectations.
  • Manage multiple timelines and complex proposal processes with professional planning and organizational skills.
  • Engage potential donors, assess their giving interest, and align them with revenue opportunities.
  • Possess proficiency in using fundraising software and databases Possess ability to analyze and organize financial data and budgets.

Work Location.

  • This is a primarily on-site position, with remote work available as appropriate.
  • The work schedule is Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Compensation: Salary Range $79,000 – $85,000
