Position Summary

Wise Resource Development is seeking a scrappy, self-motivated, experienced nonprofit professional to join a passionate mission-focused team serving nonprofits with excellence. Since 2014, Wise Resource Development has served more than 66 nonprofits and secured more than $20 million in funding from 130 different funders. This is an opportunity to make an impact on a broad range of mission spaces while working a flexible schedule in a virtual setting.

This is a full-time exempt salaried position. Key responsibilities include maintaining standards of excellence in client work and interactions, staying current on nonprofit trends and best practices, representing and promoting Wise Resource Development, and actively learning about issue areas and trends in the local and national markets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow guidelines, policies and procedures set forth by Wise Resource Development to ensure that work product meets or exceeds standards and is consistent with the brand and reputation of the company

  • Perform a minimum of 30 billable hours per week

  • Recruit new clients and encourage existing clients to utilize additional Wise Resource Development services

  • Work with clients to develop fundraising strategy, helping them develop plans to meet their fundraising goals

  • Communicate regularly, effectively and efficiently with clients to manage and fulfill expectations

  • Respond to client communications right away and in no more than 24 hours

  • Manage efficient use of Wise Resource Development and client resources

  • Manage timelines and projects to ensure that deadlines are met, including the effective use of reminders

  • Consider solutions to challenges, maintaining a positive focus on accomplishment, impact and client intentions

  • Consider ways to exceed expectations and bring value to clients, especially during their times of greatest need or stress

  • Create and manage grants plans effectively and without missing deadlines

  • Write grant proposals and applications that are compelling, following guidelines set forth by Wise Resource Development

  • Provide clients with the resources and tools that they need to be successful, either directly or through referral

  • Interpret financial data to fill out applications, build budgets, develop sustainability statements, evaluate revenue trends and fundraising strategies, develop goals and determine return on investment or rate of return

  • Support other Wise Resource Development team members and projects as needed

  • Maintain confidentiality with Wise Resource Development and client data and information

  • Research and identify potential funding sources

  • Stay current on nonprofit trends, best practices, funder interests, and other issues that may impact Wise Resource Development and our clients

  • Stay up to date on research, statistics and other current events that impact the mission work of our clients on a local and national scope

  • Represent and promote Wise Resource Development within the nonprofit sector

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years working in the nonprofit sector, preferably in a leadership position

  • Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred

  • Preferred experience with grant writing

  • Preferred experience with capital campaigns and/or program implementation

  • Understanding of financial reports and budgeting

  • Ability to build and leverage relationships

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate effectively with public speaking skills, actively listening, and open/respectful dialogue.

  • Possess analytical skills, knowledge of evaluation methods and statistics

  • Employ transparent and high integrity leadership

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
