The Plano Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for

President/ Chief Executive Officer

The 5-Star Accredited Plano Chamber of Commerce is a membership  organization that has been serving the local business community for 70+ years.  We are looking for an enthusiastic leader to serve a growing membership. Awarded the 2018 Chamber of the Year, the Plano Chamber’s President/ CEO is responsible for  fulfillment of the organization’s mission and the development of strategies towards a successful and financially stable future with an emphasis on membership development and community connections.

Organization: Plano Chamber of Commerce, a 501-c6 nonprofit membership organization with a staff of nine full-time employees, two-part-time employees, and one contractor.

Location: Plano, TX – Award winning “City of Excellence” with 280,000+ residents and a quality of life that is second to none. The Chamber membership includes 1,200+ organizations, representing 170,000+ employees, including major employers such as, Capital One, FedEx Office, Toyota North America, Frito Lay, Liberty Mutual, and JPMorgan Chase.

Function:  To provide leadership, general management, fiscal management, and oversight of all Chamber activities.  To direct the organizational management and program planning as necessary to carry out the mission and objectives of the Plano Chamber in accordance with the bylaws and established policies, and procedures. Essential Functions: Strategic Planning/Program of Work, Board and Committee Management, Membership Development, Fiscal Planning and Management, Talent Acquisition, Retention, and Development, Advocacy, Communications and Media Relations, and Special Projects

Skill Requirements: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.  Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and simultaneously on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and expertise in advocating for business/ industry issues. Willingness to work in team structure to promote and grow organization.

Years of Experience: Minimum of 6 years association or chamber experience; Bachelors degree; Association-related certification preferred (CAE, CCE, or IOM).

Compensation: Salary to  commensurate with experience; Robust benefits package including employer-paid insurance (health, dental, vision, LTD, STD, Life), car and phone allowance, Simple IRA match program, professional development allowance, bonus potential, PTO/ paid holidays and office closes at 1:00pm on Fridays!
