Job Summary

The mission of Tarrant County Samaritan Housing, Inc. (Samaritan House) is to support challenged individuals and families as they move toward independence by providing housing, resources and hope. Samaritan House has served as a provider of permanent supportive housing to the disabled, homeless and low income individuals and families in the Fort Worth and Tarrant County communities for more than twenty five years. Samaritan House is seeking a business leader who will define the processes, programs and relationships which will propel Samaritan House to greater community impact in the future. The President/CEO will be responsible for leading Samaritan House efforts to expand housing capacity, to identify new resources for our residents and to expand Samaritan House services to current and new universes of challenged individuals and families.

 

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President/CEO will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Samaritan House administration, programs, staff management, fiscal operations and fund development efforts. The President/CEO will have ultimate responsibility for the execution and expansion of the Samaritan House mission into the future. This individual must have and must continue to develop deep knowledge of the Tarrant County non-profit environment, community needs and the strategies required to support a thriving non-profit. The President/CEO will have primary responsibility for representing Samaritan House in the Tarrant County community and responsibility for creating and deepening relationships with the staff, donors, foundations, partners and other Samaritan House stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

The President/CEO must be thoroughly committed to the Samaritan House mission. This individual should be a proven leader and must have exhibited the maturity and management experience necessary to lead in the non-profit sector.

The ideal candidate will have the following professional and personal qualities, skills and characteristics:

-Nonprofit or For-profit Business Management experience of 5 years or more

-Leadership experience of 5 years or more

-Demonstrated business leadership success in a non-profit or for profit environment

-Ability to represent Samaritan House, its programs, brand and overall presence in the community

-Visionary with the ability to convey a vision of Samaritan House’s strategies to build toward the future

-Commitment to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion for all members of our community

-Strategic thinker with the proven vision, capacity and experience necessary to define priorities in an ever-changing environment

-Track record of implementing positive organizational change

-Strong organizational skills including planning, delegating and program development

-Ability to build partnerships and alliances with the community, funders, volunteers, other non-profits, local political and community leaders and other supporters

-Demonstrated fund raising capability with success across fundraising functions.

-Significant experience leading teams and managing people. Demonstrated ability to build, coach and motivate teams.

-Individual who is passionate, idealistic, of high integrity, with a positive attitude, must be mission driven and self-directed

-Experience setting and achieving strategic objectives and managing a budget

-Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

-Possess high degree of confidence, resilience and accountability.

-Minimum of bachelor’s degree (advance degree preferred) and possess five or more years of senior management experience

-Knowledge of and sensitivity to HIV/AIDS and other disabilities

 

Additional Information

This is a full time, exempt salaried position. Weekend and evening hours may be required.

Compensation/Benefits

Samaritan House offer average salaries comparable to the market and above other nonprofits. We also cover majority of individual’s health benefits, 100% of dental, $25K life and will implement a retirement plan.
