NARI North Texas Executive Director

Primary Function: The Executive Director shall serve as the administrator for daily functions of the Greater Dallas chapter of the organization and shall have day-to-day authority for its overall operation. He/she is considered part of the Leadership Team, recommending and participating in the formulation of the Greater Dallas Association's goals, objectives, strategic plans, programs, policies and budget. He/she guides and directs all programs and activities of the Association.

Responsibility and Authority: The Executive Director is responsible to the NARI Greater Dallas President and Board of Directors and serves at its discretion. The authority necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities are vested in the position.

Duties:

Responsible for directing the overall operation of the Greater Dallas Association in such a manner as to ensure its legal integrity, financial security and operational efficiency. Works with the Board of Directors to develop and monitor a long range, strategic plan for the Association. Executes all decisions of the Board of Directors consistent with the strategic plan and annual budget.

Serves as the lead recruiter of prospective members and lead driver for retention of existing members. Expected to coordinate with Membership Committee chair and Board of Directors to drive membership growth through relationships and quality programs. Maintains a high level of professionalism, follow-up of prospective members, proactive communication and prompt responses to all communication.

Maintains accurate records and files on all current and expired Chapter members. Maintain contact with the NARI National Headquarters on a monthly basis to update and make changes in membership status, mailing addresses, contact names, etc., within the local Chapter.

Prepares the annual association budget with approval from Board of Directors. Responsible for preparing monthly financial reports, membership reports and overall strategic updates to the Board of Directors at monthly board meetings.

Attends all meetings of the Board of Directors and sets agendas in conjunction with Board President. Coordinates location, agenda and speakers for monthly dinner program. Attends all monthly dinner programs and additional committee and task force meetings as appropriate. Attendance at the NARI National Conferences is expected.

Responsible for coordinating and executing all events in conjunction with designated committee chairs. Responsible for recruiting committee chairs and members.

Establishes administrative policies and procedures designed to ensure efficient operation.

Designs, prepares, and distributes all official publications of the Chapter, including, but not limited to: bi-monthly Chapter newsletter, promotional brochures, and membership, meeting, and special event materials.
Retains outside professional services where and when appropriate to assist and support the ongoing activities and objectives of the Association. Such services may include legal counsel, accounting firms and public relations firms.

Establishes and maintains good working relationships with related trade associations and public bodies. Serves with the President as the chief spokesperson on matters related to the association as well as the industry in general. Lead ambassador/liaison to NARI National and other local chapters.

Performs such other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the President to insure the proper operation of the Chapter.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of sales, sales management or general management experience
  • Bachelor's degree (with solid academic standing)
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook & Social Media required
  • Professional presentation and demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively multitask and manage the demands of numerous events/projects
  • High level of customer service skills
  • Creative thinker with proven success thinking outside the box
  • Shows leadership characteristics and ability to complete tasks without direct supervision
  • Strong personal and business ethics
  • A driven, passionate and proactive leader
  • Civic-minded and actively involved in his or her community
  • Experience with QuickBooks a plus
  • Experience with event planning a plus
  • Experience in or knowledge of the remodeling industry a plus
