About the Carroll Education Foundation

The Carroll Education Foundation’s Mission is to build financial support from our community and corporate partners to ensure excellence in education for all students in the Carroll Independent School District.  The Foundation was established in 1997 and operates as a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

The CEF has recently completed an organizational transformation and expanded its fundraising activities from a single annual event into a year-round fundraising program.  For more information on the Foundation, please visit our website at carrolleducationfoundation.org.

Executive Director Position Summary

The Carroll Education Foundation seeks a dynamic Executive Director to lead us into the next phase of organizational growth and further cultivate community and District relationships. The Executive Director will ensure that the Foundation continues the progress achieved from the recent transformation efforts while increasing our fundraising capabilities to become a $1 million annual fundraising organization over the next 5 years.

The Executive Director will serve two primary roles:

  • Act as the “Face of the Foundation” with all key constituents within the District, the community, and beyond to promote and support the Foundation’s mission
  • Create a culture of giving to increase the amount of recognition and financial support from the community

The Executive Director position will report to the Executive Committee of the Foundation. In addition, the Executive Director will oversee Foundation staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

40% “Face of the Foundation”

  • Represent the Foundation, within and external to, the CISD and the community developing positive public relations and ongoing community support
  • Create and execute a three to five-year plan, including incremental goals, to deliver on the mission and vision of the foundation for review, approval and oversight by the CEF Board of Directors
  • Awareness and participation in key Foundation committees including Marketing, Development, Engagement, and Governance
  • Active participation in Foundation activities and special events
  • Provide leadership of the strategic and operational planning processes of the Foundation
  • Facilitate production and implementation of marketing activities and materials that promote and enhance brand awareness of the organization
  • Periodic reporting on annual operating and financial plans
  • Participate in community and networking organizations to further the mission of the Foundation
  • Maintain active and collaborative relationships with District staff to ensure aligned priorities between CISD and the Foundation

60% Fundraising

  • Manage the Annual Fundraising Campaign and establish a plan to significantly expand the fundraising potential of the organization with 25% year over year revenue growth for the next 5 years
  • Cultivate donor relationships to generate multi-year giving options and results
  • Responsible for the daily administrative activities of the Foundation including donor records and recognitions, financial and operational controls, and documentation
  • Establish and oversee partnerships with the Carroll Independent School District to align fundraising potential and to serve District priorities
  • Cultivate existing and new donor relationships for annual year over year improvement in both the number of donors and amounts pledged

Job Qualifications

  • The Carroll Education Foundation Executive Director role is expected to be a full-time position of approximately 40 hours per week
  • Expected salary will be commensurate with experience. This position does not provide any insurance options, including medical or dental insurance
  • Hours are flexible, but regular office hours are required, and some evening and weekend work is necessary.

Experience:

  • Five or more years in leadership roles and a record of success in fundraising
  • Five or more years of non-profit organizational management including strategic planning, board relations, and operating/financial management
  • Evidence of excellence in oral and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills to articulate and achieve a vision and to set both short- and long-range goals
  • Personable and efficient work style as well as professional appearance and demeanor
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
  • Enjoys being creative and innovative while also conscientious of details
  • Maintain accurate records, professionalism and the ability to handle sensitive donor and community relationships
  • Technically proficient in the use of donor management, fundraising, office administration, and marketing/social media software such as Microsoft Office tools, GSuite, Donor Perfect, Greater Giving, Constant Contact, Hootesuite, and WordPress
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Texas public school funding and budget processes

Education:

Bachelors degree required in combination with relevant professional experience
