Oversee the operational success of Envision Dallas vision rehabilitation, support programs and special projects involving adults and children with vision impairment by ensuring seamless program development, delivery and management, and continuous quality improvement activities in support of Envision’s mission.




  • Ensure that Envision Dallas provides high quality programs and oversee initiatives to develop new programs and grow current programs – in collaboration, partnership and within direction provided by the Senior Director of Rehab Services – in order to increase the number of people served through each of the following:
    • The Envision Dallas Vision Rehabilitation Center - ensure that the needs of the patients and clients are met through delivery of evidence-based care through providing
      • Assistive Technology training
      • Orientation and Mobility Training
      • ADL assessments and training (SOS)
      • Braille training
      • Envision Everyday at Envision Dallas - a retail store that supplies adapted aids for people who are blind or are visually impaired.
    • Ensure that Envision Dallas Vision Rehabilitation Center provides high quality support programs and oversee initiatives to develop new programs and grow current programs in order to increase the number of people served through each of the following:
      • Art education and outreach initiatives - oversee a successful and inspirational art program for blind and visually impaired individuals.
      • Support programs for children and adults with vision impairment.
    • Develop and execute a successful and innovative program by consistently meeting and exceeding established goals, objectives and outcomes for programs.
    • Establish program/project goals, objectives and outcomes in support of the organization’s mission as well. Oversee quality improvement activities and outcome measures. Utilize findings to identify improvement opportunities and ensure corrective action is taken based on review findings.
    • Monitor fund balances of assigned programs and related financial activity in order to ensure that allocations are accurate, related revenues are generated, expenses are within budget limits and appropriate fiscal practices are followed.
    • Establish policies, procedures and guidelines that are consistent with Envision goals and that align with best practice standards. Monitor and review policies, procedures and guidelines on a regular basis and revise as related to program operations.
    • Oversee the recruitment, training and coordination of volunteers to ensure adequate coverage for programs and efficient use of time.
    • Enhance the operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing innovation or quality.
    • Ensure a successful marketing plan for the promotion of support programs by collaborating with team members as needed.
    • Maintain effective internal partnerships in order to ensure that participants are aware of all services and programs that are available at Envision and Envision Dallas.
    • Develop and implement the annual strategic plan and objectives for assigned areas. Establish operational objectives and work plans. Delegate projects and ensure timely completion.
    • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with healthcare professionals, teachers and community organizations dedicated to the needs of visually impaired. Ensure consistent communication and actively seek opportunities to promote Envision mission and support programs.
    • Provide outreach and education presentations in conjunction with support programs as necessary.
    • Hire and supervise direct reports, providing guidance on day-to-day tasks, training, time management, employee evaluations and performance management.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintain compliance with established safety policies and procedures.
    • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.




Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Public Administration, Organizational Management and Leadership, or other related field.


Experience:  Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience managing organizational programs, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role; not-for-profit experience preferred.



  • High energy and passion for the mission is essential as well as a desire to learn and understand the needs of individuals of all ages who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to:
    • Effectively communicate with various individuals and to present publicly with excellent public speaking skills.
    • Foster collaboration among diverse internal and external groups.
  • Oversee multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to service, organization values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to establish, implement, and achieve performance goals.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and influence others.
  • Knowledge of and proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, and publishing programs.



  • Must maintain a current First Aid certification.
  • Must maintain a current CPR certification.
  • Current driver’s license and driving record in good standing required.
  • Ability to successfully complete required DOT driver’s certification and successfully complete DOT physical and drug screen, per DOT regulations.
