Position Summary: The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for the annual giving fundraising activities for CIS and its’ foundation. With a significant focus on raising unrestricted dollars, the Director of Annual Giving will be expected to maintain a sizable prospect pool and solicit gifts up to $10,000 from individuals on an ongoing basis. Concurrently, they will focus on building relationships with prospects and existing donors through one on one interactions. This position will oversee all aspects of the development process with respect to annual donors including prospect identification and qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

  • Identifies and qualifies individual community members for the purpose of determining if they have the financial ability, capacity and interest in making an annual gift to CIS or its’ foundation.
  • Solicits prospects for annual gifts either via one-on-one contacts or with the involvement of volunteers.
  • Cultivates key relationships for potential annual gifts through engagement strategy, execution, and follow up with programs including site visits and direct mail/e-solicitation.
  • Develop and maintain giving society; Ensures prospects making gift commitments receive appropriate stewardship and recognition as well as follow-up correspondence for meetings and other contacts.
  • Maintains timely records of all cultivation strategies, evaluations, solicitations and results of contacts with prospects within database.
  • Assists with all special event fundraising including soliciting sponsorships, particularly from individuals.
  • Develop and maintain active volunteer program with assistance of Development Officer.
  • Assist VP of Development with marketing duties as needed.

  • Knowledge of philanthropic community in Fort Worth/Greater Tarrant County.
  • Self-starter and goal driven with strong desire to get out of the office and initiate donor visits and fundraising calls.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills; Ability to effectively articulate the mission/vision of CIS and a demonstrated experience in working with individuals who have philanthropic capacity.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in fund development with emphasis on direct fund solicitation

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Some knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator. Databases: Qgiv, Giftworks, One Cause.
