TITLE:  Development Manager – New Business Development           DEPARTMENT:  Development

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Junior Achievement of Dallas seeks a strategic and results-driven Development Manager with a focus on Corporate Sponsorships and New Business Development. This position supports the development operations of the organization, including but not limited to annual corporate giving, grant writing, individual giving, general campaigns, and special projects. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and volunteers, and providing timely and accurate reports to the President, the Chief Development Officer, and other key stakeholders. This role is essential in driving our mission to empower young people to own their economic success through financial education, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship by securing critical funding and partnerships from the corporate sector.

Scope:                                 Full-time position, exempt/ Hybrid

Reports to:                        Chief Development Officer

Salary:                                 $65K min. - $75K mid-point

Organization Budget:   $3M

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Corporate Fundraising Strategy and Execution:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to secure corporate sponsorships, partnerships, and donations.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate donors and prospects.
  • Create and present compelling proposals to potential corporate partners, aligning their interests with Junior Achievement’s mission and programs.
  1. New Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to diversify and grow the organization's revenue streams.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential corporate partners and emerging industry trends.
  • Develop innovative fundraising campaigns and initiatives targeting new business prospects.

  • Research, write, and submit grant proposals to corporate foundations and philanthropic arms.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and timely submission of reports.
  1. Donor Stewardship:
  • Ensure sponsorship and other promised recognition is delivered as promised for each donor.
  • Execute effectively to ensure that JA is creating authentic and connected experiences for every donor.
  • Uses a variety of tools including personal visits, phone calls, thank you letters, invitation to JA events, tours, and reports to provide excellent stewardship.
  • Continually provide materials and resources to donors.

 POSITION SPECIFICATION: Requirements, Desired Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years of successful fundraising, new business development or related fields with the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven track record of securing corporate sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of corporate philanthropy and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
  • Proficiency in donor databases and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain long-term relationships with donors, partners, and community leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • High level of initiative to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Strong persuasive skills and sense of urgency in achieving goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with executives at various levels of organizations
  • Experience in working with volunteers to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service, organizational and project management skills
  • Passionate about serving students with life-changing curriculum
  • Knowledge of Dallas Philanthropic and corporate community.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) a plus.
