SUMMARY

Working closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Development Director secures gifts from prospective and loyal donors through identification, cultivation, and solicitation.  Maintaining relationships with all assigned donors is critical and aids in the stewardship process.  The Development Director implements and executes successful fundraising strategies to accomplish the agency’s overall strategic plan by achieving budgeted fundraising goals.  The Development Director supervises the fundraising team and their fundraising work to achieve team goals.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement major gift fundraising strategies including the management of a portfolio of donors and prospects (150-200 constituents) in order to build relationships and increase giving against development and organizational goals.  50%-time allocation
  • Create and implement a lifetime giving society for constituents with lifetime giving of $100,000+ in order to create deeper engagement and recognition of this segment of constituents.  25%-time allocation
  • Implement a full cycle of giving strategies for leadership level luncheon donors and prospects (5-25 constituents) in order to sustain CTL fund giving.  15%-time allocation
  • Supervision and leadership of the fundraising team in order to achieve team fundraising goals.  10%-time allocation

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or in active pursuit with an estimated graduation date.
  • Five years of major gift (5+ figure gifts) fundraising experience.
  • Experience working with Tarrant County constituents preferred.
  • Certified Fund Raising Professional (CFRE) certification preferred.
  • Experience supervising a team preferred.

  • Diverse fundraising experience, including a variety of gift-giving vehicles.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND HOURS

Primarily hybrid office conditions, however, some local travel is required.  Some work in storage areas.  General working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Flexible scheduling may be required.  Some additional evening, early morning, and weekend work may be required with this position.  Flexibility in hours will be determined in consultation with the supervisor.
