Controller Job Description

Financial
• All Cash Receipts and Disbursements
• All financial record keeping including annual Ball transactions, memorials, honorariums and Endowment
• Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Maintain budget
• Monthly Financial Statements
• Cash Management, both daily and Endowment
• Texas Employers Quarterly Reporting
• Memorials and Honorariums recorded and acknowledged
• Payroll, payroll taxes, payroll quarterly reports (941)
• Prepare all schedules for Auditors, liaison with auditors and oversee completion of audit and audit report
• Prepare all schedules for 990 and liaison with accounting firm for preparation and filing
• Prepare and Send Donor Acknowledgements

Night of Ball
• In charge of Ball check in and check out
• Contribution Tickets Sales and Reconciliation
• Gifts and Prizes Accounting
• Silent Auction Check out
• Casino
• Contribution Ticket Drawing
• Recruiting and Training of Volunteers
• End of night wrap up of all financial areas

Miscellaneous
Health and Liability Insurance
Maintain and update all solicitation mailing lists
Prepare Ball Publication Information
Maintain Ball and underwriting Invitation Lists
Maintain Donor Benefits Schedule
Maintain and update Raiser’s Edge Data Base
Prepare Greater Giving Reports, Train others
Liaison to Endowment—Correspondence, Meetings facilitation, reporting, bookkeeping
Work with volunteer members to answer their questions on a timely basis
Work collegially with other staff when needed for miscellaneous projects, opportunities

 

Qualifications

BBA Accounting, CPA Preferable
Quickbooks
Raisers Edge
Greater Giving Event Software
Microsoft Word
Excel
