Nonprofit Budgeting

May 19, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Budgeting has its challenges but the result is a valuable tool for your not-for-profit. This course will provide you with an understanding of what a budget is, how a budget is prepared, the methods available to be utilized to compile a budget, and the roles individuals within your organization will play in the budget process. As a not-for-profit, there is an additional layer of complexity due to unique NFP areas, such as in-kind, spending policies, and funding restrictions. We will consider the impact of these areas and more while we discuss best practices to implement budget procedures, identify opportunities for efficiencies, and increase clarity through reporting.

After attending this workshop you will be able to:
• Define key areas and elements of budgeting
• Gain an understanding of the budgeting process
• Apply best practices for budgeting and understand the unique NFP areas that impact budgeting for your organization
