Following nonprofit sector news these days can leave fundraising professionals feeling alarmed. Stories about the new tax law, growth of donor advised funds and increasing wealth inequality mostly abound with dire predictions, leaving some of us wondering whether the sky is truly falling. This session will provide 2018 Giving USA data showing the effects of the new tax law on philanthropy and offer insights about the current environment to distinguish the sensational headlines from real emerging concerns.
Practitioners will leave with the most current philanthropic data, gain a more nuanced understanding of the issues behind the headlines and receive practical advice about how to adjust your fundraising approach.
