Paula Hart is an Executive Leader with over 35 years of for-profit and nonprofit success in multiple sectors — including health care, human services, marketing and retail — with more than 14 years as President/CEO of large, complex organizations.   In 2019 she retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of Volunteers of America – Minnesota and Wisconsin (VOA-MN/WI), one of  the Upper Midwest’s largest health and human services organizations, with more than a $46 million annual budget, serving 25,000 people annually with 1400 volunteers and  800 employees in over 100 locations. Paula helped grow a 123-year legacy with a mission of helping America’s most vulnerable build hope, resilience and well-being.

Prior to joining VOA, Paula held key leadership roles for two other Minnesota nonprofits, as President and CEO of Dakota Communities (now Living Well Disability Services) and Chief Operating Officer of Courage Center (now part of Allina Health). Before entering the health and human services field she held marketing and retail leadership positions in the department store division of Target Corporation.

Paula has a passion for lifelong learning. She holds a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from St. Catherine University, where she also earned a Certificate in Ethics and Leadership. She completed Stanford’s Executive Education for Nonprofit Leaders program and Mindful Leadership Training from Seton Cove, located in Austin Texas. Paula has an undergraduate degree in philosophy from Carleton College where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with Honors in Independent Study.

In late 2019 Paula moved to Dallas with her husband to enjoy milder winters and be closer to family.
