The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is seeking applications for an articulate, experienced and innovative Chief Philanthropy Officer to join the Museum’s senior leadership team. The Chief Philanthropy Officer is a new position responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive, strategic fundraising development program that is tightly integrated with the Museum’s programming initiatives and project priorities. This new role includes responsibilities for building and staffing a functioning Development Department focused on creating diversified streams of contributed income.
The Chief Philanthropy Officer is a key member of the senior management team reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, working closely with the Museum Board, Staff and Community Leaders. The Chief Philanthropy Officer is expected to help expand the Museum’s visibility among key stakeholders developing strong relationships in the community.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communications skills, a proven track record in fundraising, knowledge and experience, and a solid understanding of best practices and procedures in a non-profit environment. Minimum qualifications are: Bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred), and minimum of 7 years of progressive responsibility in fundraising, sponsorships, annual fund and patrons’ programs, and working with volunteer Development Committees. Museum experience is a plus.
